Three Palestinians injured in Israeli strikes on Gaza
News from Russia
GAZA, June 14 (RIA Novosti) – Three Palestinians have been injured in Israeli air strikes on tunnels between Gaza and Egypt, a Palestinian security source told RIA Novosti on Sunday.
Israeli warplanes targeted tunnels used to smuggle weapons into the enclave, after a rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel on Saturday. The Qassam rocket landed near the border in southern Israel, causing no injuries.
Palestinians say the tunnels leading to Egypt are needed to bring in vital goods including food.
However, the Israeli military says that around 670 mines and rockets have been smuggled into the enclave since the start of the year via the tunnels.
